SPINAL TAP
1984
Overview
Directed by Rob Reiner, this mockumentary follows the fictional British heavy metal band Spinal Tap as they embark on a disastrous comeback tour across America. The film humorously documents the band's declining popularity, inept management, and comically large egos. Featuring improvisational performances from Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer, the film has become a cult classic, celebrated for its satirical take on the rock and roll lifestyle and its enduring catchphrase, "These go to eleven."
